Betfred To Donate To Jessie May

Jessie MayWorld Championship title sponsor Betfred will donate £200 to Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home for every century break made during the 17 days of this year’s tournament.

And if the century tally reaches 80, the donation will be rounded up to massive £40,000, to match the 40 years that the tournament has been staged at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

The Betfred World Championship runs from April 15 to May 1, with 32 of the world’s best players competing for the title.

Betfred boss Fred Done said: “Once again we are delighted to be supporting World Snooker’s official charity at the sport’s biggest tournament. Jessie May is a fantastic cause and I hope we can raise as much money as possible over what is going to be a fantastic fortnight of top class snooker. It’s over to the best players in the world now to show their skills on the table and knock the centuries in. I would love to see that figure of 80 reached so we can boost the donation to £40,000.”

Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home, based in Bristol, has become World Snooker’s official charity partner for the 2016/17 season. Jessie May provides a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in the Bristol area.
