Betfred World Championship – Reminders For Fans
Snooker’s biggest tournament is coming up at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield (April 21 and May 7) and here are a few points for fans to remember during the event:
Message from the Crucible about the Cloakroom:
Our Cloakroom will be open during sessions for you to leave your coats and bags with us but please don’t bring any suitcases or large holdalls as we do not have enough space to store them*. Small handbags (no bigger than A3 size, 300mm x 420mm) are permitted to be taken into the auditorium. All bags brought into the Crucible, or stored in the Cloakroom will be searched by security.
*As a guide, any bags larger than cabin size (H 550mm X W 45mm D 20mm) will not be stored in the cloakroom so please do not bring them.
To ensure safety please be advised security may search customers using hand held body scanners to prevent restricted items from entering the building.
Dress Code
Sorry football fans…but from this year, spectators are requested to dress smartly in the arena. The Event Promoter requests that no sportswear or team sport shirts are worn. If in the opinion of the Event Promoter an item of clothing is not deemed suitable to wear in the arena the person will be refused admission until such time they have found an alternative item of clothing that is deemed acceptable.
May 5 Session Time
As we announced in January, the evening session for the semi-final on Saturday May 5 starts at 7.30pm (previously advertised as 7pm).
2019 Tickets
Tickets for the 2019 Betfred World Championship go on sale on Sunday May 6 for fans in person at the box office, and Monday May 7 for general online and phone sales. For all the details click here – make sure you are ready!
The Draw
Following the completion of the qualifying rounds on April 18, the draw for the final stages will take place at 10am on Thursday April 19. You can watch live on our Facebook channel, Betfred’s Facebook channel and Betfred TV.
Judgement Day
There will also be extensive Facebook Live coverage of the final qualifying round of the Betfred World Championship on April 17 and 18. With commentary from Rob Walker and Neal Foulds, we’ll be following the action on Judgement Day as players compete for places at the Crucible.

Once again there will be free coaching available in CueZone with our official coaches. Also look out for World Disability Billiards and Snooker Day on Wednesday April 25 and Ladies Day on Wednesday May 2.
