Betway Donate £10,000 To Jessie May
UK Championship title sponsor Betway has donated £10,000 to Jessie May Children’s Hospice At Home thanks to a blitz of centuries during the tournament in York.
Betway announced at the start of the event that if the century total topped 100 – or if there was a 147 maximum break – then the donation to World Snooker’s official charity would be triggered.
And with a record number of centuries made, the donation came on the sixth day of the tournament.
Since 2015, Betway has donated a total of £58,788 to World Snooker’s charity partners.
Lindsey Horton, Corporate Partnerships Officer for Jessie May, added: “We can’t believe this amazing and generous offer from Betway and on behalf of all our families and Nurses we send a HUGE thank you for your ongoing support.”
Jessie May Children’s Hospice at Home, based in Bristol, provides a hospice at home service for terminally ill children, offering care to families in the Bristol area. For more information on Jessie May see www.jessiemay.org.uk
