Ticket Info / Checklist For Fans

Fans coming to the Crucible for the Betfred World Championship, this is your key information:

CHECKLIST – you will need to bring:

A text message or email confirming a negative lateral flow test result. The test must be taken either on the day of  or the day before the session you will be attending.

Photographic identification, which you’ll produce alongside your test result

An email response confirming your consent – each spectator must consent to participate in the Government’s Events Research Programme, please follow this link, and bring a copy of your confirmation receipt

A valid E-Ticket (please check your junk folder if you have not received this within 4 days of your visit)

Code of Conduct

A code of conduct for the event is provided here which provides further guidance on hygiene, travel as well as other important information for the day. You must adhere to this during your attendance at the event.

Children, Clinically Extremely Vulnerable or Pregnant Adults

Please note that as a research project it will not be possible for us to allow attendees under 16.

The ERP urge caution for the clinically extremely vulnerable, pregnant or those living with somebody who falls within these categories.

Testing Information

Rapid Lateral Flow Test

Prior to attending the event, you must take a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test at a Local Authority Asymptomatic Testing Site close to where you live or work. If you are travelling from outside of Sheffield, please take this test prior to travelling.

For Sheffield residents, testing can be booked at the English Institute of Sport. When prompted for your reason for booking a test, please select Other.

A limited drop-in facility will be available at the Sheffield Hallam University. This facility is available:

• primarily for attendees resident in the Sheffield area
• ticket holders attending multiple event days, and requiring multiple lateral flow tests attendees, not resident in Sheffield, who have exhausted all other local options and still require a test. Please only use this as a last resort as this resource is limited.
• You must bring your Snooker World Championship ticket with you to gain access to the testing site.

The Sheffield Hallam testing facility will be open as a minimum Mon – Fri: 09:20 am – 12:20pm, 1:30pm – 4:50pm. The facility will be operating with extended opening hours over the bank holiday weekend opening at 09:00 am and closing at 7:15 pm on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday although it will be closed between 2:00 pm and 2:45 pm. Additionally, over the Bank Holiday Weekend we have also arranged a further testing facility at the Crucible Theatre, to provide a limited number of tests for those who have exhausted all other options and still require a test.

For attendees of multiple event days, you must take a test either the day of the first session that you attend, or the day before the first session that you attend, and then every third day thereafter. To clarity, if you test on Friday to attend on Saturday morning, you would need your next test on Monday.

PCR Test

Audience participation in this event is possible as it is part of the Event Research Programme (ERP) and will support the phased return of fuller audiences to venues and events. In order to collect the important evidence required to support the return of audiences we request that all participants undertake both a pre and post event PCR test in addition to the lateral flow test referenced above.

This PCR test is requested for research purposes and proof of this test is not required in order to gain entry into the Crucible Theatre. It is only proof of the Lateral Flow test that will be required in order to gain entry. These tests will be provided to you at the venue to take away with you. Do not use these PCR test kits if you have had a confirmed positive PCR test in the last 30 days.

Photo ID

Each attendee must provide Photo ID in order to be admitted to the Crucible. You will need to show this alongside your negative test result. In the event that you are not able to provide this you will not be able to enter and will be offered a refund.

Arrival at the Crucible

Please arrive at Crucible no earlier than 1 hour 30 minutes before, but in good time ahead of the session start time as checks on test proof, consent confirmation, ticket checks and bag checks will be expected to take some time. You will be held in Tudor Square until the time comes for us to safely admit you into the Crucible for your session.

Test and Trace

On entry to the Crucible, all spectators will scan the QR Code and ‘check in’ using the NHS App. Please download this App in advance of your visit if you do not already have it.

Food and Drink

It will not be possible to purchase food and drink once inside the venue. You are permitted to bring snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (with a sealed top) with you in your bag. Please do not bring glass bottles or hot food.

Crucible Corner

Our Restaurant and Bar on Tudor Square is open for table service on the outdoor terrace from 9am until 9pm, serving Breakfast Sandwiches from 9am until 11am and the Main Menu from 11am. Please note that alcohol service starts at 11am. Book your table here.

Bags

The cloakroom will not be open so please do not bring any bags that you cannot keep on your person, ideally no larger than A3 in size.

CueZone

Due to Covid restrictions World Snooker Tour (WST) will not be operating a full CueZone in the Winter Gardens this year. However the BBC team will still be presenting live from this area and you can also find the Official WST Merchandise stand here.
