Chinese Referees Attend Seminar

A seminar on the practices of World Snooker referees and the duties and role of Tournament Directors and other officials was staged at the new CBSA / World Snooker Academy in Beijing last week.

Leading referee Paul Collier instructed 80 qualified Chinese referees during the four-day seminar. Many of these went on to the Bank of Communications Shanghai Masters to officiate as referees or markers.

Collier said: “It’s great to see the development of snooker referees in China and the enthusiasm of those involved. This seminar formed an important part of their training as officials, and those who are working at the Shanghai event this week are gaining vital experience.”
