Cope Progresses In Burton

Jamie Cope booked his place in the second round of Q School event one thanks to a 4-1 defeat of John Pritchett in Burton.

Cope has previously reached ranking event finals at the 2006 Grand Prix and the 2007 China Open. However, after struggling with his game in recent times, the player nicknamed Shotgun dropped off the tour at the end of the 2016/17 season.

Cope top scored today with a century run of 106 and will face Adam Edge in round two.

Women’s World Champion Ng On-Yee almost pulled off a tremendous fightback against Daniel Womersley. The Hong Kong potter came from 3-0 down to force a decider at 3-3. However, it was Womersley who came through a 4-3 victor.

Hammad Miah was relegated from the World Snooker Tour at the end of last season, but he started his bid to regain his professional status perfectly, with a 4-0 win over Luke Garland.

Mitchell Mann, who also fell off of the tour last season, didn’t fare so well, losing out 4-3 to Michael Judge.

Former US Open nine-ball champion Corey Deuel suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Haydon Pinhey.
