Brendan Moore
Referee from the snooker city who took charge of Crucible finals in 2014 and 2018.
Born: Sheffield
Lives: Sheffield
Highest break: 63, only the once. Never got close to it again.
Qualified as a referee: September 2002
First Pro game: September 2004, Grand Prix qualifier between David Roe and Patrick Wallace.
Most memorable match: My second world final where Mark Williams beat John Higgins in 2018. The game and atmosphere from start to finish was absolutely incredible.
Most embarrassing moment: I don’t think I’ve had one yet!
If you weren’t a referee what would you do: I’d sell up, move abroad somewhere warm and buy a bar.
Which is the toughest rule to apply: The simultaneous hit.
What do you carry in your pocket: Two ball markers, a £5 coin and a pen.
Where do you get your gloves: I purchase a few pairs every time I go over to China from one of the referees over there.
Interests: I love football and follow Sheffield Wednesday home and away as often as possible. I’m a huge fan of American Football, in particular Miami Dolphins. I have a granddaughter now, Evie, and when I’m home I love spending time with her. I also love going to the cinema, I’d quite happily go and see a movie every day.
