Craigie Charges To Maintain Q School Hopes

Sam CraigieSam Craigie fought back from 3-2 down to defeat Andy Hicks 4-3 in a high quality encounter at Q School event one in Burton.

Newcastle’s Craigie produced his best snooker in the crucial moments, as he fired in breaks of 71 and 63 to seal the 4-3 win and move within four wins of an immediate return to the tour.

Stephen Hallworth trailed Chinese prospect Zhao Xintong 2-0, but a four-frame burst saw the 22-year-old from England keep himself in contention for a second spell as a professional thanks to a 4-2 victory.

Barry Pinches dramatically faced his son Luke in the previous round, securing a 4-1 win. He continued his run in Burton with a 4-3 defeat of Fang Xiongman.
