Football Stars Take Snooker Challenge

West Ham United teammates Andy Carroll and Carl Jenkinson put their friendship to one side as they faced each other in a frame of snooker to launch the 2015 Betway UK Championship.

And there was more than pride at stake – the loser’s forfeit was to clean his conqueror’s boots for a week.

Not that there could be any excuses in Betway’s #Baizeofglory challenge.

World champion Stuart Bingham and 2011 UK Championship winner Judd Trump, Betway’s 5/1 favourite to land this year’s title, were on hand to coach the Premier League stars.

 

Andy Carroll said: “I’ve been looking forward to taking on Carl. He loves watching the snooker and fancies himself as a bit of a player – let’s see how good he really is!”

Judd Trump said: “Stuart and I were both really impressed with Andy and Carl’s qualities. Their cue handling and shot selection was impressive and you could tell how competitive they were.”
