A host of snooker stars including Steve Davis, John Parrott, John Higgins, Shaun Murphy, Ken Doherty, Peter Ebdon, Graeme Dott and Mark Allen took part in the event at Accrington Golf Club.

Former World Champion Ebdon came out on top alongside his four-ball partners from Accrington Stanley FC: Jack Lewis, Glen Catlow and Craig Catlow. An auction of rare snooker memorabilia took place in the clubhouse after the 18 holes.

A total of £11,900 was raised for the Foundation, which gives disadvantaged, able bodied and disabled youngsters an opportunity to play snooker.

WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson said: “It was a sad moment when we lost one of our own. Events like this make me very proud to see how our players ‎come together to support this great cause.”
