Griffiths To Coach Six Players

Griffiths is highly regarded as a coach among top players

Renowned coach Terry Griffiths will be working with six players during the 2015/16 season, including Chinese ace Ding Junhui.

Former World Champion Griffiths announced in March that he would continue his coaching career, despite former employer On Q Promotions ceasing to operate.

And the Welshman has now confirmed the line-up of half a dozen players he will be coaching in the coming months: Ding Junhui, Barry Hawkins, Mark Allen, Mark Davis, Michael Holt and Jack Lisowski.

The 67-year-old said: “It’s a nice mixture of players, with three in the top 16 and three outside. And three I have worked with before, and three I haven’t. My objective will be to help all of them improve and move forward.

“There were other players who wanted to work with me, and nothing against any of them but unfortunately I had to turn them down because I decided that six was the maximum.

“It’s a new challenge for me and an exciting one which I’m looking forward to. I won’t be travelling overseas but I’ll be at many of the events in the UK and I have always loved being involved at tournaments.”
