Higgins To Face Lisowski In Glasgow
Home favourite John Higgins has been handed a tough opening match against Jack Lisowski at next month’s Scottish Open.
The world ranking tournament runs from December 11 to 17 at the Glasgow Emirates Arena, with 128 players chasing the Stephen Hendry Trophy and a top prize of £70,000.
Wishaw’s Higgins reached the final last year but was denied the title he craves by Marco Fu, who won 9-4. This time the four-time World Champion is determined to go one better, but he first has to get past up-and-coming Lisowski, who is in the best form of his career having reached the semi-finals of the recent Shanghai Masters. That match will take place on Monday December 11 at 1pm.
Ronnie O’Sullivan will take on Michael Georgiou in his opening match on Tuesday December 12 at 1pm.
Defending champion Fu will face Duane Jones while Judd Trump will face Robin Hull. Glaswegian Anthony McGill faces a battle against Ryan Day while Stephen Maguire will play Alex Borg.
All 128 players will be in action over the first two days.
Tickets for the tournament are still available and start at just £10, superb value for money to see the best players in the world.
