Liang Keeps Hot Streak Going

UK Championship finalist Liang Wenbo continued his purple patch of form by winning three matches at the Dafabet Gibraltar Open on Friday.

The Chinese ace knocked out Matthew Stevens and Joel Walker before beating Zak Surety 4-0 with top breaks of 144, 71 and 66 to reach the last 16.

World number one Mark Selby is also through to Sunday’s conclusion at the season’s fifth Kreativ Dental Clinic European Tour event. He beat Zhao Xintong 4-1 in the last 32 with a top break of 78.

Marco Fu made a 147 in the last 64 and followed up with a 4-2 win over Dylan Craig in the next round. Peter Ebdon top scored with 93 in a 4-1 win over Jamie Jones while Dominic Dale edged out Tian Pengfei 4-3.
