Lisowski Leads The Whirlwind
Jack Lisowski holds a 5-4 advantage over six-time Crucible finalist Jimmy White in Betfred World Championship qualifying at Ponds Forge.
The game holds huge significance for White, who could drop off the tour if he suffers defeat.
Lisowski started fastest, taking the opening two frames. However, White showed tremendous resilience to hit back with breaks of 122 and 93 and restore parity at 2-2.
The Whirlwind then swept into a 4-3 lead, before 25-year-old Lisowski won the remaining frames to end the session 5-4 up.
Recent European Under-21 Champion Alexander Ursenbacher has put himself in a great position to record a shock victory over world number 31 Robert Milkins, leading 6-3.
Switzerland’s Ursenbacher charged out of the blocks this morning, to establish a 6-1 advantage. However, Milkins edged a tight eighth frame, before making a run of 63 to close the gap to three at the end of the session.
There was a blistering performance from Scottish Open semi-finalist Yu Delu, to put Brazil’s Itaro Santos on the brink of elimination. Yu leads 9-0 after breaks of 79, 76, 53, 135, 59 and 55 this morning.
Martin Gould leads Thai legend James Wattana 7-2 going into the final session. The 2016 German Masters winner compiled a century run of 108 during the morning session.
