Matchroom Sport, the world’s leading sports promoter and sports broadcast supplier, is delighted to announce a new partnership with local football club Brentwood Town FC which will see the Matchroom logo feature on the front of the Isthmian League North Divison side’s home shirt for the 2023/24 season.
Matchroom Founder and President Barry Hearn OBE was influential in supporting the local non-league side who play locally to the company’s headquarters with Hearn present for the kit launch at the Brentwood Arena. The company is committed to supporting grassroots sport in the community as underlined by this partnership alongside charitable work through the Matchroom Charitable Foundation with charities such as the Saint Francis Hospice based in Romford.
Over the last two years, Matchroom has also brought some of the biggest events in cue sports to Brentwood with the World Snooker Tour’s English Open last December and this October as well as the World Nineball Tour visiting on two occasions with the World Cup of Pool in 2022 and the recent World Pool Masters in May this year.
Brentwood Town FC has launched their Project 3G campaign which sees supporters and local businesses able to contribute towards a brand new 3G pitch which will be laid in May 2024 as part of the wider development to the club’s stadium and clubhouse. The 3G pitch will allow the community to take advantage of facilities during periods of time where typically they would not be able to.
Matchroom President Barry Hearn OBE said: “It feels only right to get involved in a fantastic community cause so local to the Matchroom office. Brentwood Town FC do some brilliant work in the local community which all importantly gets people active and involved. We hope our support can go a long way in helping the club move forwards in the coming 12 months and beyond as part of Project 3G.”
