Northern Ireland Open – Top Stars Scheduled
Snooker kings including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and home favourite Mark Allen have had their first round matches scheduled at next month’s Northern Ireland Open in Belfast.
The tournament runs from November 14 to 20 at the Titanic Exhibition Centre and it’s the second of the new Home Nations series of events, after this week’s Coral English Open.
The following star players have already been scheduled into the format:
Monday November 14
Afternoon session
Judd Trump – new European Masters champion
John Higgins – snooker legend
Shaun Murphy – former World Champion
Evening session
Ronnie O’Sullivan – five time World Champion
Joe Perry – former Players Championship winner
Tuesday November 15
Afternoon session
Ding Junhui – 12 time ranking event winner
Evening session
Mark Allen – current Players Champion and Northern Ireland’s finest
The remainder of the draw and format will be released after the International Championship which finishes on October 30.
Televised by European and Quest, the Northern Ireland Open will be contested by 128 players, all battling for the £70,000 top prize and the new Alex Higgins Trophy. It will be the first professional snooker tournament in Northern Ireland since 2008.
Any player winning all four Home Nations events will win a massive £1 million bonus.
