O’Sullivan Homes In On Tons Record
Ronnie O’Sullivan made three consecutive centuries in a 5-2 win over George Pragnall at the German Masters qualifiers in Wigan on Thursday.
O’Sullivan’s breaks of 117, 106 and 104 brought his career tally of tons to 773, just two short of Stephen Hendry’s record of 775. In the final qualifying round today, O’Sullivan meets Aditya Mehta.
World number one Neil Robertson was pushed all the way by Mitchell Mann in a high quality match, with Robertson eventually winning 5-4 with a break of 135 in the deciding frame.
Mark Selby came from 3-2 down to beat Oliver Brown 5-3 with a top break of 72 while John Higgins top scored with 60 in a 5-2 win over Elliot Slessor.
Ali Carter was edged out 5-4 by Sam Baird, who made an 84 in the decider, while Oliver Lines impressed in a 5-1 win over Jack Lisowski.
Marco Fu saw off Steve Davis 5-1 and Stephen Maguire beat Alexander Ursenbacher by the same scoreline.
