Bio
Gould was defeated in his first two ranking finals, the latter in a deciding frame against John Higgins at the 2015 Australian Open, but seven months after that reversal he achieved his breakthrough success by winning the German Masters in Berlin. He has been to one more ranking final since then at the 2020 European Masters, going down in another decider to Mark Selby. Famed for making his way in the game using ordinary spectacles instead of a snooker-specific pair, Gould was a two-time winner of the Championship League in its original invitational format.
