Bio
Carty was just 17 when he finished runner-up at the European Under-21 Championship in 2013, and later reached the last 32 of two ranking events as an amateur before securing professional status in 2018. Needing to qualify for the 2020 World Championship to stay on tour, he won three matches to get to the Crucible and retain his place, then pushed former champion Stuart Bingham hard in the first round. Although relegation did follow two years later, Carty returned after just a season away, and swiftly reached his first ever ranking quarter-final at the 2023 European Masters.
