Bio
Lei registered one of the biggest surprises in snooker history when he won the 2024 Scottish Open. Ranked 84th, he became the lowest seeded ranking event winner since Dave Haorld in 1993. Age 21, he knocked a series of star names before beating Wu Yize 9-5 in the final to join the club of ranking event champions. Lei wasn't even on the pro tour earlier in the same year, but regained his tour card by winning the Asia Pacific Open Championship and now hopes to make further strides forward in his career. In 2025 he qualified for the Crucible for the first time then shocked Kyren Wilson 10-9 in the first round, before losing in the last 16 to eventual champion Zhao Xintong.
