Bio
After almost ten years as a professional, Wakelin’s career was transformed by a memorable fortnight in early 2023 when he won the Shoot Out in Leicester, then got to the quarter-finals of the German Masters in Berlin the following week. Carrying the resulting confidence into the following season, he reached the final of the Northern Ireland Open in October 2023 before going down to Judd Trump. He reached his third ranking final at the 2024 International Championship, and despite defeat to Ding Junhui that run lifted him into the world's top 16 for the first time. He made his Masters debut in 2025 and reach the quarter-finals at the Crucible.

2023 | Enjoys his best career moment as he wins his first ranking title, beating Julien LeClercq in the final of the Shoot Out, making a tournament-high break of 119 in the final. The £50,000 prize lifts him to 33rd in the rankings. The following week he beats Neil Robertson 5-4 at the German Masters before his 16-game winning streak is ended by Robert Milkins in the quarter-finals.
