Bio

Winner of the World Amateur Championship in New Zealand in 1996, Bingham’s first big impact as a professional came in 2000 when he beat the defending champion Stephen Hendry on his Crucible debut. The long wait for his first ranking title ended at the 2011 Australian Open, propelling him to several years of success which culminated in winning the 2015 World Championship in a high-quality final against Shaun Murphy. At the age of 43, Bingham became the oldest ever winner of The Masters when he beat fellow Essex man Ali Carter in the final at Alexandra Palace in 2020.
