Career highlights:
2007: Enjoys a phenomenal run to the final of the Welsh Open, having started the event as a 500-1 outsider. Beats the likes of John Higgins, Ali Carter and Stephen Maguire, even making a 147. In the final he comes from 6-2 down against Neil Robertson to lead 8-6 but eventually loses 9-8.
2011: Wins his first pro title at a Players Tour Championship event in Sheffield, beating John Higgins 4-1 in the final.
2012: Reaches the semi-finals of the PTC Grand Finals before losing to Stephen Lee. Wins a match at the Crucible for the first time, beating Lee 10-6 before losing to Jamie Jones in the last 16. Climbs to 18th in the world.
2017: Quarter-finalist at the Riga Masters.
2023: Regains a place on the pro tour after a one-year absence by coming through Q School, beating Haydon Pinhey 4-0 in the final round of event one.
