1997: Lands his first ranking title at the Grand Prix in Bournemouth, registering a huge shock by beating John Higgins 9-6 in the final.
1999: Climbs to number 19 in the world.
2000: Beats Peter Ebdon and David Gray at the Crucible to reach the quarter-finals, before his run is ended by Joe Swail.
2007: Wins his second ranking title at the Shanghai Masters, beating the likes of Ken Doherty and Mark Selby to reach the final where he comes back from 6-2 down to beat practice partner Ryan Day 10-6.
2010: Wins a Players Tour Championship event in Sheffield, beating Martin Gould 4-3 in the final.
2014: Wins the one-frame Shoot Out in Blackpool, beating the likes of Barry Hawkins and Mark Allen to reach the final before seeing off Stuart Bingham to secure the trophy. Reaches the quarter-finals of the World Championship for the second time, losing narrowly 13-12 to Barry Hawkins.
2016: Semi-finalist at the Paul Hunter Classic.
2023: Semi-finalist at the Shoot Out.
