2005: Runner-up to Stephen Hendry at the Malta Cup.
2006: Enjoys the best moment of his career by winning the World Championship. Beats the likes of Neil Robertson and Ronnie O’Sullivan to reach the Crucible final before outlasting Peter Ebdon in an epic battle, the score 18-14.
2007: Captures his second ranking title by beating Jamie Cope in the final of the China Open. Climbs to number two in the world.
2010: His third Crucible final ends in an 18-13 reverse against Neil Robertson.
2018: Reaches the final of the German Masters and the Shoot Out, but is beaten by Mark Williams and Michael Georgiou.
2020: Makes the final of the World Grand Prix, losing 10-8 to Neil Robertson.
2022: Reaches the semi-finals of the European Masters before losing to Fan Zhengyi. Makes his second official 147 during the qualifying rounds of the World Championship.
