2018: Earns a tour card at Q School, beating Jamie Cope 4-1 in the final round of event two. Runner-up at the European Amateur Championship. Reaches the last 32 of the Paul Hunter Classic and the English Open.
2020: Comes through World Championship qualifying to earn a Crucible debut, beating Rory McLeod, Hossein Vafaei and Ryan Day. Loses a hard fought contest at the Theatre of Dreams 10-6 to Mark Selby.
2021: Wins his first ranking title at the BetVictor Welsh Open. Comes through a tough draw, beating the likes of Mark Selby and Stephen Maguire, before a tremendous 9-8 win over Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final. Becomes the fourth Northern Irishman to win a ranking event, after Alex Higgins, Dennis Taylor and Mark Allen. Number 81 in the world at the time, he is the lowest ranked player to win a ranking title since Dave Harold in 1993.
