Filipiak regained a place on the pro circuit by winning the 2019 European Championship. He beat David Lilley 5-4 in the final in Israel.
During the 2019-20 season there are two Polish players on the pro tour for the first time, Filipiak joining Adam Stefanow. The duo represented their country at the 2019 World Cup in China.
Filipiak first turned pro at the age of just 15 in 2011 after winning the European under-21 title. He played in the World Cup in the same year and scored wins over John Higgins, Stephen Maguire and Marco Fu. He was even tipped by Ronnie O’Sullivan as a future World Champion. However, his results in ranking events were less promising and he was relegated in 2012.
He has made a 147 in a national competition in Poland.
