Career highlights:

2006: Wins the World Amateur Championship.
2010: Makes his first official 147, at the first ever event in the Players Tour Championship series.
2013: Reaches his first ranking event semi-final at the PTC Grand Finals in Galway, before losing to Ding Junhui. Climbs into the world’s top 32 for the first time.
2015: Semi-finalist at the China Open, beating the likes of Shaun Murphy and Ali Carter before being denied a place in the final by Mark Selby. Makes his Crucible debut after coming through the qualifying rounds of the World Championship, only to be pipped 10-9 by Selby in the last 32. Represents Norway at the World Cup, in a team with wife Anita, who is Norway’s top female player.
2019: Reaches the third ranking event semi-final of his career at the Riga Masters, before a narrow 5-4 reverse against Mark Joyce.
2020: Fantastic run at the World Championship as he beats David Gilbert at the Crucible then scores a career-best 13-11 win over John Higgins to reach the quarter-finals. Eventually loses 13-10 to Anthony McGill.
2021: Qualifies for the Crucible at the World Championship, but succumbs to a 10-1 loss against eventual winner Mark Selby.
