Pros Pay Tribute To Retired Ebdon

Players including Judd Trump, Joe Perry and Ali Carter have paid tribute to former World Champion Peter Ebdon who announced his retirement today.

Former World Champion Ebdon has put his cue away for good due to the effects of a chronic neck injury.

WST Chairman Barry Hearn tweeted Ebdon to say:  “Heard the news of your retirement and I just wanted to say thank you for your services to snooker and congratulate you on a wonderful professional career. Good luck for the future.”

Judd Trump: “Happy retirement to Peter, what a fantastic career. Also learned a lot from playing him in my early career and he loved to take on some crazy shots at times which I have a lot of respect for.”

Joe Perry: “Sad to hear that one of the greats has called time on his fantastic career. His determination, temperament and unique skill was always great to watch.”

Ali Carter: “Gutted that my good friend Peter has been forced to retire through injury. What a man – what a player and what a career. Always the ultimate professional. I’m rooting for him in life – Good luck.”
