Robertson Secures China Spot

Neil Robertson made it to the final stages of the China Championship with a 5-2 win over Gerard Greene at the qualifying round in Preston.

Greene – returning to the pro tour after a one year absence – started well with a break of 100 to win the opening frame, but Robertson then took five of the next six with a top run of 65.

Matthew Selt completed the comeback of the day as he overturned a 4-0 deficit to beat Peter Lines 5-4. Selt top scored with 61 and won the 49-minute decider 73-25.

Ryan Day top scored with 86 in a 5-0 defeat of Jimmy White while Hossein Vafaei won pro snooker’s first ever Iranian derby, beating Soheil Vahedi 5-0.
