Robertson To Face Allen In Coventry Final

Neil Robertson will meet Mark Allen in the final of the 188BET Champion of Champions at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday.

The pair will battle over 19 frames for the top prize of £100,000, with both seeking to win the event for the first time.

Robertson is aiming for his first trophy of the season while Allen is on target for back-to-back titles having won the Bulgarian Open last Sunday to gain the 16th and last spot  in Coventry.

World number three Robertson beat close friend Joe Perry 6-4 in the semi-finals. He led 4-2, helped by a superb break of 144 in the fourth frame, before Perry fought back to 4-4. But Australia’s Robertson finished strongly with runs of 61 and 81 in the last two frames to book his final spot.

Northern Ireland’s Allen saw off Shanghai Masters champion Kyren Wilson 6-3. Wilson came from 4-1 down to 4-3, but world number 11 Allen crucially won the eighth frame then sealed victory in the next with a run of 88, his highest of the match.
