Sargeant Earns Tour Stripes

Brandon Sargeant is guaranteed a two-year card for the World Snooker Tour as he tops the Challenge Tour rankings with just one event to go.

The Challenge Tour is a new series this season with ten events, and the top two players in the final rankings to earn a World Snooker Tour card for 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Sargeant won the first event of the season and reached the final of event five

Stoke’s 21-year-old Sargeant has earned £6,625 from the nine events so far, ahead of David Grace (£5,775) and Mitchell Mann (£5,725). The draw for event ten, to take place on March 6-7 in Gloucester, has been made.

Grace and Mann could play each other in the third round if they both get that far, which means that Sargeant cannot be overtaken by more than one of them, so he is certain to finish in the top two.

Fourth-placed David Lilley, with £4,200, can still earn a pro tour spot if he wins the £2,000 top prize at the last event and both Mann and Grace are knocked out early. Otherwise either Mann or Grace will earn the tour card, depending on which of them goes further in Gloucester.
