Germany are football’s kings after beating Argentina in the World Cup final on Sunday, but many of their players are also keen snooker fans.

At the 2010 World Cup in South Africa they even had a snooker table at their training camp, as coach Joachim Low believed it would help them relax as they prepared for matches.

Captain Philipp Lahm (pictured left, along with Arne Friedrich, Manuel Neuer and Piotr Trochowski) is a particularly keen cueman and has a full size table at his house in Munich.

As for the six snooker players we asked for their predictions before the World Cup started, none of them picked the winner. Silver star to Joe Perry for tipping Argentina and saying Germany had a chance, but back of the class for Martin Gould and Alfie Burden for predicting the trophy would be lifted by Spain, who crashed out in the group phase.
