The tournament has proved popular with players and fans

Defending champion is Welshman Mark Williams who won the event on his debut last season, while fans’ favourites Steve Davis and Jimmy White are also among the recent winners.

Several former World Champions and former winners of the Seniors event, aged 40 or over by the end of this season, will be invited to make up the 16-man field. The remaining spots will be available in a qualifying tournament in Wigan from December 21 to 23.
