Snooker Ace Rees Faces Welsh Derby
Promising potter Tyler Rees will take on Jamie Jones when he plays in a major tournament for the first time at next week’s Coral Welsh Open in Cardiff.

Llanelli’s 18-year-old Rees has been handed a wild card entry into the world ranking event having won the European Under-18 title last year. And he has been drawn against world number 34 Jones, from Neath. That match will take place on Tuesday February 14 at 1pm.
Jackson Page, the 15-year-old from Ebbw Vale who won the World Under-18 title last year, is the other Welsh amateur wild card, and he will take on world number 123 Jason Weston in the first round, on Monday February 13 at 1pm.
The tournament at the Motorpoint Arena runs from February 13 to 19, with a 128 players chasing the new Ray Reardon Trophy and a top prize of £70,000. This is the last event of the Coral Home Nations series and it will be televised by Eurosport and BBC Wales.

Ronnie O’Sullivan will be defending the title having won it for the fourth time last year, and he faces a tough opening test against Tom Ford on Tuesday at 1pm.
Neil Robertson, who lost in the final last year, will take on legend Jimmy White on Monday evening.
Top Welsh player Mark Williams takes on Elliott Slessor while Matthew Stevens has been drawn against world number two Stuart Bingham.
