Dominic Dale white-washed China’s Lyu Haotian 5-0 to qualify for the final stages of the Australian Goldfields Open.
Shoot-Out champion and World Championship quarter-finalist Dale managed a top break of just 40 but did enough to beat Lyu and make it to the final stages of the world ranking event in Bendigo.
Mark Joyce came from 3-1 and 4-3 down to beat Ian Burns 5-4, making breaks of 105 and 66 in the last two frames. Andrew Higginson came from 4-2 down to edge out Aditya Mehta 5-4, taking the decider on the colours.
Tom Ford top scored with 81 in a 5-1 defeat of amateur Oliver Brown while Liang Wenbo made a 106 in a 5-2 win over Jimmy Robertson.
Jack Lisowski beat David Gilbert 5-2 with a top run of 90 while promising Scott Donaldson saw off Kurt Maflin by the same scoreline. Jamie Jones beat Mark King 5-1 with a top break of 54.
