Marco Fu, Jamie Jones, Fergal O’Brien and Gary Wilson all took time out of their practice schedule on Tuesday to visit Yushan Welfare Home.
The facility looks after disadvantaged people of all ages in Yushan County, in China’s Jiangxi Province. And residents were delighted to meet the snooker stars, who handed out special gifts.
WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson said: “We are very grateful to the Yushan Municipal Government, Shangrao Government and Star Xing Pai for giving us the opportunity to see this Welfare Home, which does so much fantastic work in looking after local people who are in need of help.
“We are in this city as guests of the local government and the people of Yushan. We have been made extremely welcome and I am very pleased to see our sport engaging with local organisations in this way.
“I’d also like to thank the four players who were generous enough to take the time to join us today and put a smile on the faces of people in the local community.”
Fu, Jones, O’Brien and Wilson will all be playing in the last 32 of the Hong Rui Ma Yushan Word Open on Wednesday.
