Three Spots Left In Champion Of Champions Field
With the 2017 Champion of Champions set for the Ricoh Arena from 6th to 12th November, the starting line-up of the all-star 16-man field is starting to take shape. With the total prize-fund up a whopping 23% (£300,000 up to £370,000) the Champion of Champions is cementing its position as one of the premier invitational events on the calendar.
The field is made up of winners of World Snooker events throughout the preceding 12 months and with three events left to play, there are 13 players assured of their spot in the event.
They are:
John Higgins – Defending champion, Championship League, Indian Open, World Championship runner-up
Mark Selby – World Championship, UK Championship, China Open
Ronnie O’Sullivan – The Masters
Anthony Hamilton – German Masters
Barry Hawkins -World Grand Prix
Judd Trump – Players Championship
Luca Brecel – China Championship
Ding Junhui – Yushan World Open
Mark King – Northern Ireland Open
Marco Fu – Scottish Open
Stuart Bingham – Welsh Open
Shaun Murphy – Gibraltar Open
Ryan Day – Riga Masters
The remaining three events are this week’s European Masters in Belgium, the English Open (16-22 October) and the International Championship in China from 29th October to 5th November. Should there be no new Champions at these events, the following players will take the remaining spots, in order of precedent:

Anthony McGill – Shoot Out
