The 2022 Six Red World Championship will run from September 5 to 10 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Stephen Maguire won the SangSom Six Red World Championship for the second time in 2019, beating John Higgins 8-6 in the final.

In 2018, Kyren Wilson beat Ding Junhui 8-4 in the final to win the title for the first time.

The tournament takes place in Bangkok, Thailand and was first staged in 2012. Mark Davis won the first two stagings of the event before Stephen Maguire took the title in 2014 by beating Ricky Walden in the final. In 2015, home favourite Thepchaiya Un-Nooh won his first pro title by beating Liang Wenbo in the final. Then in 2016 Ding Junhui beat Stuart Bingham 8-7 in a thrilling final. Mark Williams won the title for the first time in 2017 by beating Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 8-2 in the final.

This invitation event uses six reds instead of the traditional 15. Snooker has a rich history in Thailand and the best local amateurs are handed the opportunity to compete in this event, alongside many of the world’s top professionals.
