Trump and Bingham Level In Lommel

Judd Trump and Stuart Bingham couldn’t be split after the opening session of the 888sport European Masters Final, with the clash finely poised at 4-4.

The best of 17 encounter is now essentially reduced to a race to five in this evening’s final session. Bingham will be hoping for a repeat of their recent Welsh Open final, where he lifted the Ray Reardon trophy. Victory for the current European Masters champion Trump would see him defend a ranking title for the first time.

The first two frames today were shared, before the game came alive. Bingham was first to show his break building power, firing in a run of 73. Trump hit back immediately with a run of 90 to level proceedings at 2-2.

From that point it looked like the 2015 World Champion was most likely to carry an advantage into tonight. Bingham sunk two consecutive century breaks of 107 and 101 to move clear at 4-2.

However, it was 2011 UK Champion Trump who showed character to stay in touch. He won the next, before claiming the longest frame of the match to make it 4-4 and set up a fascinating night of snooker at Lommel.
