Jimmy White Gets The Better Of Judd Trump [4-2, R3] | WST Classic

Trump Too Strong For O’Donnell

Defending champion Judd Trump surged to a 4-0 whitewash win over Martin O’Donnell at the D88.com European Masters in Lommel.

The Ace in the Pack is aiming to win the event for the third consecutive year. His victory last year in Lommel, where he defeated Stuart Bingham 9-7 in the final, saw him retain a ranking title for the first time in his career.

Trump was in imperious form this evening and top scored with a run of 114 on his way to the victory, which took just 47 minutes.

Trump said: “It is only the best players in the world that have won tournaments two, three or four times in a row, so if I could win this week then that would be a good goal for me.”

Belgium’s Luca Brecel got his quest for glory on home turf off to a successful start with a 4-2 defeat of Welshman Daniel Wells.

Brecel did trail 2-1 in the early stages, but he managed to force himself over the line with three frames on the bounce.

Kyren Wilson came through an entertaining clash with Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh to emerge a 4-1 victor.

With Wilson leading 2-1, Un-Nooh spurned an opportunity for a maximum, breaking down on 72. The Warrior punished that mistake, making a break of 65 on his way to stealing the frame by one point on the black. Wilson went on to compose a run of 81 in the next to seal his win.

Jack Lisowski overpowered Welshman Duane Jones to win 4-1 in under an hour. While Fergal O’Brien won a final frame decider to defeat Marco Fu 4-3.
