White Leaps Up One Year List
Michael White has climbed to eighth place on the one year ranking list thanks to his victory at the Paul Hunter Classic.
Welsh 26-year-old White beat Shaun Murphy 4-2 in the final in Germany to win his second ranking title. And he flies 20 places up the one year list to put himself in line for a place at the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix and Ladbrokes Players Championship
Three events into the season (only ranking events count) Luca Brecel heads the one year list with £152,600. Murphy, runner-up in two events, is second with £85,000.
This list will once again be used to determine the field for the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix and Ladbrokes Players Championship later in the season. The top 32 on the one-year list after the Coral Shoot Out will qualify for the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix in Preston (February 19-25) then the top 16 from the same list after the Gibraltar Open will qualify for the Ladbrokes Players Championship in Llandudno (March 19-25).
As it stands there are 12 players in the top 32 of the one year list who are outside the top 32 of the official two year list, and 11 players in the top 16 of the one year list who are outside the top 16 of the two-year list.
White’s victory saw him climb four places on the two-year list to 26th. Mark Selby reached the last 16 in Germany and he is a massive £767,950 ahead of Judd Trump at the top of the list.
White could also be handed a place at the Champion of Champions in November, but that will depend on results in the remaining qualifying events.
