Wilson Allays Blood Clot Fears

Kyren Wilson is fit to fly to next week’s Indian Open despite concerns over a possible blood clot in his left leg.
The world number 16 from Kettering pulled out of last week’s Kaspersky Riga Masters after suffering from swelling in his leg and foot.
But the Shanghai Masters champion has no intention of missing a second consecutive ranking event and will be on the plane to Hyderabad for the Indian Open which starts on Tuesday.
“I went for some tests earlier this week to check the blood pressure in both legs and I still need to have some more,” said the 24-year-old. “They couldn’t say either way whether it is a blood clot. But I’ve had a phone call from my doctors saying I’m fit to travel, so I’m looking forward to getting on with my season now.
“The leg is not really painful but it swells up sometimes. Other people in my family have similar problems with circulation. I’m trying not to think too much about it and I’m confident it will be resolved.
“I really enjoy travelling and that’s a huge part of the snooker tour now so hopefully it won’t cause any problems. I went to the event in Mumbai in India last year and got to the last 16. It was a great place and I’m really looking forward to seeing Hyderabad for the first time.”
