WST Facebook Reaches Two Million Followers
With fans from over 150 countries across the globe, WST’s Facebook Page has reached the milestone of two million followers.
The page crossed the one million landmark in 2021, and since then the number of followers has doubled, underlining snooker’s ever-growing popularity in all corners of the planet.
With a mixture of archive footage and feature videos as well as latest news and images from the professional tour, WST’s page is the official source of snooker on Facebook, bringing information and entertainment to fans worldwide.
WST recently formed a partnership with Red Lantern, a global leader in digital media, with the intention of expanding snooker’s online presence throughout Asia and developing the sport’s popularity with fans.
Pakistan has the highest number of fans, followed by Thailand, United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Morocco, Iraq, Brazil and USA.
The channel reached 120M Facebook users over the last 12 months, achieving 720M video views.
WST’s Digital Media Manager Sam Fletcher said: “We are delighted to cross the two million barrier on Facebook, just two years after we reached seven figures for the first time, and we are determined to accelerate that rate of growth in years to come.
“Digital media allows us to reach out to new fans across the globe, particularly in territories where people may not be able to watch snooker on linear television. Our content on Facebook helps us to develop a relationship with those fans. As a sport, snooker has massive ambitions to grow internationally, and our digital operation is a key part of that expansion.
“On the table, the standard of play and the level of drama has never been higher, and our strategy is to show the best of the current action, mixed with the best matches from our incredible archive, as well as feature content which helps fans get to know the players.
“We are excited to evolve this strategy with more high quality content and keep building engagement with people in ever more territories. Thank you to all of our fans for following snooker.”
