Xu Si Claims World Under-21 Title
Young Chinese talent Xu Si has become the 2016 IBSF World Under-21 Champion, after a comeback victory in the final over Alexander Ursenbacher in Belgium.
The 18-year-old Si was bidding to become the sixth consecutive player from Asia take the crown, while Ursenbacher sought to become the first winner from Switzerland.
Ursenbacher looked set for victory at 5-3 up. However, Si produced nerveless snooker with contributions of 41, 59 and 69 to snatch a 6-5 victory.
Si has already displayed his talent on the World Snooker Tour this year. Playing as a wildcard, he scored an impressive 5-3 victory over Thai icon James Wattana at the 2016 World Open in Yushan.
Germany’s Lukas Kleckers and Hong Kong’s Ka Wai Cheung both lost out at the semi-final stage in Belgium.
