Fans who already have tickets for the 2021 Betfred World Championship will have received an email from Sheffield Theatres.
The email explains the options in relation to tickets currently held. Fans can choose to:
Option 1: Remain in the mix for the 2021 event
Option 2: Transfer to the 2022 tournament
Option 3: Claim a full refund
The strict deadline to respond is Wednesday 24 March at 12 noon, if a response is not received your order will automatically transfer to Option 1 and you will remain in the mix.
This month we announced that the Betfred World Championship has been selected as a pilot event for the return of crowds, so we do expect to welcome fans at the Crucible Theatre for the event which runs from April 17 to May 3.
We are now planning the event with the UK Government and will shortly set out more information about what ticket holders can expect.
The Crucible has staged the World Championship every year since 1977
Ticket holders can be assured that safety will be the highest priority. Safety protocols are being discussed with Government at the moment and we will have a clearer picture in the next few days, although there will be a requirement that fans will undertake a test for Covid-19. Proof of a negative result will be a requirement to enter the venue. Fans will need to adhere to Government guidelines, the details of which will be issued to ticket holders as soon as possible.
Fans who choose Option 1 (to remain in the mix), note that as further information becomes available you will still have the opportunity to transfer or refund during this process – at this stage you are only registering your interest.
Please note, if you choose Option 1 and:
• you are not successful in obtaining tickets for 2021
• you are unable to attend due to a positive test result or Covid-19 symptoms
• you are not comfortable with any development of the Covid-19 regulation required at the event
…you will have the opportunity to transfer or refund your order at no extra cost. We will be in regular contact with you as we receive further information.
Please note that if you do choose to transfer or refund your booking, any unallocated tickets will go back on sale near the time of the event. Fans without tickets should keep an eye on this website and our social media channels for information on when those tickets will go on sale.
If you request a refund, these will start to be issued during the week commencing 5 April, and a member of the Box Office team will contact you directly if there are any problems.
