Page Progresses In Burton

Welsh teenager Jackson Page remains in the hunt for a tour card after a 4-0 whitewash win against Anthony Jeffers at Q School Event Two in Burton.

The 16-year-old, who is mentored by World Champion Mark Williams, has showcased his potential over the last two seasons. Page reached the last 32 of the 2017 Welsh Open as a wildcard. He also ran Chinese star Yan Bingtao close in a 10-7 defeat at World Championship qualifying last month.

This afternoon Page eased to victory, compiling breaks of 56 and 60 along the way.

Young Chinese prospect Zhao Xintong came through a tough battle with Clayton Humphries 4-3 to progress.

Zhao, 21, dropped off the tour at the end of last season after defeat at World Championship qualifying against compatriot Liang Wenbo. He top scored today with a break of 96 to reach the second round.

Lee Daegyu continued his bid to become the first professional player from South Korea with a  4-1 win over Jed Mann. While Chen Zhe, who dropped off the tour last season, progressed with a 4-3 win over Luke Pinches.
