Rankings Update – Selby Rises

Mark Selby is up to third place on the one-year ranking list  after winning the 19.com English Open and looks well on his way to qualifying for the Coral Series of events early in 2020.

Selby won his first ranking title for 13 months by crushing David Gilbert 9-1 in the final in Crawley with a near-flawless display. The £70,000 prize sees him up one place to third with a total of £138,000.

This list will be used to determine who makes it to the three Coral Series events :

Coral World Grand Prix, Cheltenham, February 3-9. Top 32 on the one-year list after the BetVictor German Masters will qualify.

Coral Players Championship, Southport Waterfront, February 24 to March 1. Top 16 on the one-year list after the BetVictor Shoot Out.

Coral Tour Championship, Llandudno, March 17-22. Top eight on the one-year list after the BetVictor Gibraltar Open.

Last season, Kyren Wilson was the eighth and last seed at the Coral Tour Championship with £190,500.

Gilbert banked £30,000 and he’s up from 11th to sixth. Semi-finalist Tom Ford jumps from 14th to eighth.

On the official two-year list, Selby climbs one place to fourth, while Gilbert is also up one spot, to 11th. Judd Trump remains on top, £154,500 clear of Ronnie O’Sullivan.

There are nine players currently inside the top 32 of the one-year list who are outside the top 32 on the official two-year list.

Selby’s victory also earned him a place at the ManBetX Champion of Champions in November – for the list of qualified players click here

The Race to the Masters is heating up with just three events to go – the Yushan World Open, 19.com Northern Ireland Open and Betway UK Championship – before the top 16 is set for Alexandra Palace. Ford jumped to 21st place thanks to the £20,000 he earned in Crawley. Just £80,650 separates Ding Junhui in 14th place from Xiao Guodong in 24th.

Tickets for many of these events are on sale now – for details click here.
