Robertson Fights Back To Beat Johal
Neil Robertson survived a scare against amateur Kuldesh Johal at the International Championship qualifiers in Barnsley, coming from 3-1 down to win 6-3.
World number four Robertson looked in danger of a shock defeat when he lost three of the first four frames on the black. But the Australian hit back after the interval to win five in a row with top breaks of 79, 69 and 90, booking his place in the final stages in Daqing later this month, where a top prize of £125,000 will be up for grabs.
Graeme Dott came from 2-1 down to beat Andy Hicks 6-3 and another former World Champion, Peter Ebdon, earned his spot with a 6-1 win over Zak Surety.
Mark Joyce came from 2-0 down to beat Hamza Akbar 6-2 with a top break of 131 while Anthony McGill top scored with 102 in a 6-3 win over James Wattana. Luca Brecel compiled runs of 132 and 121 as he beat David Grace 6-1.
