Trump Ends Maguire Reign

Trump has reached at least the last 16 of every tournament he has contested since the Indian Open in March
Judd Trump beat last year’s champion Stephen Maguire 6-4 in the last 32 of the SangSom Six Red World Championship in Bangkok.

Maguire won the title for the first time last year but his defence was ended by world number seven Trump. In the last 16 later on Thursday, Trump will face Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, who scored a surprise 6-3 win over World Champion Stuart Bingham.
Joe Perry thrashed Ken Doherty 6-1 to earn a match with Anthony McGill, a 6-4 winner over Phaithoon Phonbun.
Thailand’s Boonyarit Keattikun, the world under-21 champion, impressed in a 6-3 win over Michael Holt, and he will now play Ryan Day. Michael White saw off Pankaj Advani 6-2 to set up a meeting with Noppon Saengkham.

In the bottom half of the draw, world number one Mark Selby white-washed home favourite James Wattana 6-0 and will now play Muhammad Sajjad. Marco Fu beat two-time champion Mark Davis 6-4 to set up a tie with Muhammad Asif.
Matthew Selt continued his fine run of form with a 6-2 defeat of Ding Junhui. His next opponent is Robert Milkins who edged out Joe Swail 6-5. Rising star Yan Bingtao beat Mark Williams 6-4 to earn a Chinese derby with Liang Wenbo.
